FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Here you can get information about our riding school and our riding club Reit- und Fahrverein Hahnbach.
Do your riding instructor speaks english?
Yes! Our riding instructor Sabrina Lauer speaks english. While she was staying abroad in Australia, Sabrina worked as a groom in a stud farm for dressage and jumping horses. Therefore we can offer english speaking riding lessons.
You can call her at the number +49151 10237052.
At what age can I learn to ride?
We take children from the age of 8 as our riding students, because from this age they are motorically able to learn how to ride a horse. For younger children we offer holiday courses with pony riding.
We also like to welcome adult riding students to our club.
How do the first riding lesson look like?
In your first riding lesson you will be lunged on a horse by our riding instructor. At the beginning you will get to know your trained horse/ pony, after that you will groom it and tack up with the help of our riding instructor. Then the lunging lesson begins, where you learn to keep up with the movement of the horse and how to find balance on the horse in all three basic gaits. This often doesn't work in just one lesson, usually it takes more lessons.
What initial equipment do I need for riding?
You don't have to buy expensive equipment for the first few lessons. All you need is sturdy shoes with a continuous sole and a heel, trousers that do not fit too loosely and a helmet. We provide riding helmets, but you can also use a well-fitting bicycle helmet as an alternative.
Do I need a membership in the riding club from the beginning to learn how to ride?
No, you can get to know our riding school and club first and pay for the first riding lessons in cash. We would be happy if you decide to become a member.
What are the benefits of membership?
Membership in our riding club offers many new friendships, great events, but also discounted riding lessons, participation in tournaments, advanced training courses and much more.
What are the advantages of riding lessons at RuFV Hahnbach?
Our group riding lessons are kept as small as possible to offer enough attention to every riding student.
Furthermore, to avoid lengthy failures, our trained horses are regularly presented to the vet, farrier, physiotherapist and dentist, so that they are always in top shape for our riding students.
